Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Herr; Protein production)

Job description

There is an immediate opening the the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Herr. Ideally, we would like to attract postdoctoral candidates with expertise in protein production and purification as well as in molecular biophysics techniques to characterize protein fold, stability, and assembly state. He or she will be responsible for the biochemical studies to identify and characterize the microbial effector protein(s) that lead to the ER stress response in mice and humans. Required: - Develop the skills and knowledge (critical thinking and analysis of data, devising specific aims, long-term project planning and experimental design) to become an independent scientist - Design, execute, and record laboratory experiments, and analyze data, which may affect decisions regarding future patient care. - Research and improve current methods and evaluate innovative techniques. protocol and assay accuracy by conducting regular quality and reproducibility checks. Implement this knowledge in the Division/Department.
