Description The Department of Environmental Studies at Knox College invites applications for a one-year appointment as visiting assistant professor of environmental studies beginning September 1, 2024. There is a possibility of renewal. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on some aspect of the environmental social sciences, including but not limited to environmental policy, environmental history, environmental justice, or sustainability. Knox is an independent, selective liberal arts institution with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a diverse environment. The Environmental Studies Department offers major tracks in Environmental Studies and Environmental Science, both of which culminate in faculty-supervised student research. Teaching responsibilities include two classes per each of three 10-week terms (Fall, Winter, Spring) and supporting advanced students in the program. The successful candidate will have experience with research techniques appropriate to their field and will be prepared to supervise senior research projects.
