Job description
Description The Astrophysics group at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for up to two postdoctoral research positions to work on studies of Sun-like and low-mass stars, within the research group led by Professor Sean Matt. Our research team is dynamic and collaborative and currently includes one postdoc, five PhD students, and several undergraduate research students. The overarching goal of our research is to develop a theoretical understanding of rotation, magnetic activity, and mass loss of solar-like and low-mass stars, including interactions with their environments (e.g., planets, accretion disks), from the pre-main-sequence phase to the end of the main sequence. We encourage applications from all who have interests, skills, or experience in any of these areas and who will collaborate with the team. There is ample funding for computing resources and travel, and there will also be the opportunity to gain experience in mentoring, outreach, and other departmental activities. Start date: flexible, starting as soon as 2026 April. Term Length: initial 1-year, renewable up to 2 more years (3 years total) There are 2 positions for postdoctoral research associates open. Qu...
