Brandeis University is looking for a Custodian in Facilities Department. Essential Job Functions: Clean, strip, polish building surfaces as directed. Read, understand and carry out simple instructions in English. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with supervisors, fellow workers, department heads and other members of the campus community. Follow simple oral instructions in English. Work in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities and from individuals and time deadlines. Bend, stoop, lift and move furniture, shovel snow and remove trash weighing 30 pounds. Work either independently or in a project team setting. Organize responsibilities and tasks. Receive and ship packages, luggage and supplies. Set up rooms for conferences, lectures, and special events. Respond to and clean up after emergencies and disasters. Assist in the security and protection of facilities to include locking and unlocking exterior and interior doors. *This list is representative of those duties and responsibilities that are required of this position.
