Position: Evening Adult Basic Education/GED Instructor Department: Workforce Development & Continuing Education Type of Position: Non-Credit Instructor: Exemption Status: Exempt: Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday & Wednesday, 5:15 PM-9:15 PM, 8 hours per week Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No: Starting Salary Range: $25.00 per hour Position Summary: Provide learner-centered instruction for basic literacy and math through high school equivalency/college readiness skills in reading, writing, math computation, applied math, science, and social studies in preparation for taking the 2014 GED® exam. Create individual education plans for each learner and monitor progress toward passing the 2014 GED® exam. Instruct students one-on-one and in small groups. Guide and supervise ongoing study. Engage community volunteers to assist with one-on-one instruction with learners. Create reports and maintain records. Participate in professional development events.
