Classification Title: OPS-Sponsored Projects Non-Clerical Classification Minimum Requirements: Associate's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Description: The University of Florida Diabetes Institute is seeking dedicated and caring Diabetes Peer Coaches to support medically underserved communities across Florida. These part-time, time-limited positions are funded through the State of Florida’s Extension for Community Health Outcomes (ECHO) Diabetes initiative and are available in Alachua, Polk/Hardee, Hillsborough, and Miami-Dade counties. As a Diabetes Peer Coach, you will work directly with adults living with Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) in primary care and community settings. In this role, you will: Peer coaches will work collaboratively with clinical and academic faculty to advance the goals of the ECHO Diabetes program and will work under the supervision of the project’s Principal Investigator, Dr. Ashby Walker.
