Security Specialist I Please Note the Fleet Driving, Firearms & Testing verbiage in this Job Description. *** The Georgia Power Company Physical Security Operations Center is a 24/7/365 operation. The Security Specialist works 12 hour rotating shifts. These shifts will require working nights, weekends and holidays. The Georgia Power Company Security Specialist will be responsible for monitoring a wide range of highly technical, networked physical and electronic security technologies from Georgia Power Company’s Physical Security Operations Center. Additionally, the Security Specialist will monitor security technology deployed by some of the company’s business partners in defense of identified sites throughout the Southern Company enterprise. The Security Specialist will proactively conduct scheduled and random security patrols of a high-security, low-profile campus, monitor and respond to requests for security services, screen all visitors, and maintain situational awareness of the campus and its curtilage.
