Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work in the Commercial Division in the Fort Myers, FL area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of specific project tasks as assigned by the Project Manager. In this position, the candidate will interface with the estimating division (Project Engineers will gain/enhance experience in estimating), Project Assistant (administrative functions are required to complete many assigned tasks) and the Project Superintendent as well as the Project Manager. Responsibilities: - Primarily performs duties in planning for commercial projects. - Maintain project logs (i.e. Submittal Log, RFI log, etc.). - Maintain and update schedules. - Identify need for and write RFI’s. - Prepare, review and process shop drawings. - Maintain as-built drawings. - Collect and assemble O&M materials. - Purchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and drafting. - Material purchasing and expediting. - Document distribution. - Value engineering design and proposals. - Coordinating with Subcontractors and Vendors. - Contract document distribution to job site, vendors and subcontractors. - Visits project sites to mon...
