Shelter Navigator - Part Time

Description YWCA Dayton, a 24-hour organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks an energetic, dedicated person to be an integral part of our team. The Shelter Navigator is responsible for ensuring that survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking, and their children have access to a crisis hotline and/or shelter on a 24-hour per day basis. This is a part-time, varied shift position (up to 20 hours per week, Friday - Sunday), days off will vary, and the role is not a traditional administrative position. This person supports the vision, mission, and values of YWCA Dayton. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Respond to crisis service requests, including in-person, phone calls, web-based communication, and messages made to YWCA 24-hour crisis services, and screen all communication for immediate needs and provide supportive listening and service linkage. - Assess potential shelter clients for eligibility and provide alternate options for those who cannot be accommodated. - Provides support in shelter to ensure 24-hour coverage, including intake paperwork, general shelter oversight, and other...
