Position Title Surgical Technologist Days - Full Time: Cambridge Tower A: Position Summary / Career Interest: The Surgical Technologist, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and the Nurse Manager, handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the surgical procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the surgical procedure and is maintains constant vigilance of the sterile field. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions: - Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures. Ensures surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique. - Provides surgical assistance. Places sterile drapes on the patient to establish the sterile operating field. Participates in the time-out process to verify the correct patient, procedure, and surgical site. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team based on knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how they relate to the surgical patient and the patient's surgical procedure. Prep...
