ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) creates and coordinates services that enhance the quality of life for Cambridge residents. Driven by the needs of residents, DHSP’s extensive services and programs touch almost every sector in the city: from newborns to senior citizens, from school-aged children to homeless families, from non-profit organizations to local employers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Recreation Activities Coordinator and in conjunction with the Director of Programming, the Director will: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. - Oversee the administration, management, and supervision of a comprehensive summer camp program serving children ages 6-21 with disabilities. - Manage all aspects of seasonal staff recruitment and hiring - Work closely with the Assistant Director regarding the planning, marketing, promotion, and scheduling of Camp Rainbow. - Weekly meetings with Activities Coordinator - Provide supervision and leadership to Head Teachers and camp counselors. - Recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate summer...
