Job description

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma and a minimum of five years of experience in track and structures maintenance and inspection are required. College education may be substituted on a year for-year basis. Proficiency is required in the use of a personal computer and must be skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, timekeeping, maintenance management and other software. INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments. SUMMARY: Supervises the activities of Track Maintainers, Walkers, Equipment Mechanics, Apprentices, Structural Inspectors, or Tamper Operators. Maintains Branch inspection and maintenance programs in accordance with Branch policies and federal requirements and guidelines. Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business. Performs work and makes decisions that impacts service delivery and customer safety to a substantial degree.
