Job description
Location: Eisenberg 94/93 (EI94/93), Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematology (General Care) Patient Care Type: This unit is a bridged unit with a HEPA air filtration system, designed to protect immunosuppressed patients from airborne infections. Nurses provide care for patients undergoing autologous or allogeneic bone marrow transplants and peripheral stem cell infusions. Patients may be hospitalized during various stages of their wellness/illness from initial diagnosis through active treatment, recovery, or through end of life. As part of the Mayo Cancer Center, the unit participates in individual and group cancer research programs. Bed #: 19. Pod A is comprised of six inpatient private rooms, one outpatient double room, and four private outpatient rooms. Two outpatient exam rooms are also off the unit in the main corridor. Pod B is comprised of eight private inpatient rooms. Two of the rooms are set up for isolation with ante rooms. Room 9-420 has the capability of reversing the air flow of the room to negative pressure.
