Job description

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee assists Pharmacist(s) in the preparation and distribution of medications and maintains pharmaceutical inventory and maintains patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Delivers and / or picks up pharmaceuticals for patients and /or Centers. Pharmacy Technician Trainee activities are performed under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist at all times. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Greets and receives customers and provides assistance in locating pharmacy items. Explains and clarifies prescriptions and responds to queries. 2. Demonstrates competency with the pharmacy software; records prescriptions, purchase orders, requisitions and disbursements with speed and accuracy. Reports any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty. 3. Receives and dispenses prescription medicine signed off by Pharmacist, packages prescription bottles, measures and counts pills or tablets. Distributes and ships prescriptions accurately. 4. Adds measured drugs or nutrients to intravenous solutions under sterile conditions to prepare intravenous (IV) packs under Pharmacist supervision. 5. Locate and price...
