Job Details: Job Description *This position is part-time and is only available for candidates who are currently enrolled in a Diesel Technology program* Trailer preventive maintenance technician will work cross-functionally across multiple areas of the garage; responsibilities include but are not limited to performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trailers and performing emergency mechanical or electrical failures. Ability to diagnose and repair brake and wheel end failures on trailers. Ability to perform minor structural welding and cutting tasks. Ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment and the ability to effectively communicate with all transportation personnel including managers, drivers, and clerks. Must be able to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics. Basic math skills are necessary to perform these tasks at a satisfactory level. Basic computer skills will be necessary to document information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation.
