Overview THIS IS A TEMPORARY, SUMMER-ONLY POSITION. Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job): The City of Boston, Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of summer programs, including, but not limited to, drop-in programs, golf, soccer, rugby, sports camp(s), baseball, softball programs, and much, much more. The Recreation Summer Program Assistant will support the Recreation Program Director, Manager and Staff Assistant(s) with summer programs, including educational activities, games and drop-in activities for youth throughout the Greater Boston Neighborhoods. Responsibilities: - Ensures the safety of all participants and direct supervision of children in all planned activities. - Assists the Program Director, Manager, or Staff Assistant with the program theme. - Ensures children are aware of rules and daily scheduled routines. - Attends all staff meetings. - Assists in the planning and implemention of assigned program needs. - Assists with equipment and materials for the assigned program/event. - Ensures proper procedures are followed for sign-in/out of children on a daily basis. - Reports all accidents to the Supervisor. - Assumes an equal share of the r...
