JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Sign Technician performs several job functions under the supervision of the Street & Drainage Superintendent. This position plans, coordinates and directs activities within the sign department to provide Traffic Management Services. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years of experience in traffic markings, sign installation and maintenance. Special Requirements: Must possess a valid Texas Class "A" Commercial driver's license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge (intermediate) of computer software and programs. - Knowledge of and ability to operate light construction equipment, pavement marking equipment, sign production equipment, computers and GPS equipment. - Ability (intermediate) to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses and encyclopedias. - Ability (intermediate) to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, rations/proportions and measurement. - Ability (intermediate) to write reports; prepare business letters, expositions and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all...
