Located at Miami Valley Hospital's Free Standing Emergency Department (Beavercreek, OH) Full-Time Evening Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) With Weekend and Holiday Rotation Position Summary: The FSED Technical Assistant will perform various tasks in assigned laboratory departments which may include, but is not limited to phlebotomy, specimen handling/processing and preparation, instrument loading, quality control and supply management. Role will also include performance of CLIA defined waived and moderately complex testing. All activities performed are within the associate’s scope of training and are under the guidance of technical staff. Responsibilities: Qualifications: - Perform phlebotomy. • Perform processing functions to include receipt, distribution, core lab preparation/packing and storage of specimens. • Perform maintenance and set up of laboratory instrumentation. • Prepare and load quality control material. Evaluate quality control results for acceptability prior to patient testing and release into quality control program. • Load specimens onto laboratory instruments. • Operate laboratory instrumentation independently and recognizes instrument and equipment malfunctions. • Per...
