Title: Assistant Attorney General, Health Services Section State Role Title: Assistant Attorney General Hiring Range: Commensurate with Experience: Pay Band: UG: Agency: Attorney General & Dept of Law Location: Office of the Attorney General Agency Website: https://www.oag.state.va.us/: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties: This attorney, based in Richmond, will serve as counsel and provide representation and advice to the Department of Health Professions and its boards. The attorney will attend board meetings and serve as board counsel during informal and formal disciplinary proceedings conducted under the Virginia Administrative Process Act. Responsibilities include all aspects of litigation from defending board decisions on appeal in state court to representing the boards in federal court. The daily advice provided to the Boards will involve a variety of legal issues involving health law, confidentiality and privacy laws, the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and the Virginia Administrative Process Act.
