Description The Marsal School of Education at the University of Michigan seeks to appoint a tenure track faculty member at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank in early literacy. We invite applicants whose scholarship focuses on early literacy education (early childhood, preschool, or primary grades) and whose research contributes to knowledge in the areas of teacher preparation, policy, and/or curriculum and pedagogy. Successful candidates will be those who have made significant contributions to early literacy education (or demonstrate the potential for such contributions) in one or more of the following areas: early literacy development in culturally and linguistically diverse families and communities equitable and effective approaches to literacy instruction in the preschool through primary years the preparation of preschool and primary grade teachers of literacy The successful applicant must form explicit connections between their work and Marsal School’s commitments to contribute to diversity, inclusion, justice, and equity.
