States considered: Role Description Position Summary: Solid waste incinerator operators control processes and equipment to destroy by incineration municipal, infectious, pathogenic, and biological wastes as permitted in solid waste incinerators. The incumbent will maintain and operate the incinerator and related equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the disposal system. Position Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to: - Maintain operation records including by not limited to, tonnages accepted, and quantities of ash disposed of via Special Waste Authorization. - Read and interpret data from various meters and/or gauges which monitor the equipment’s operation. - Inspect loads of incoming waste. - Waste pickups. - Safe operation of pressure rated vessel. - Knowledge of proper recycling material disposal methods. - Maintain cleanliness of Incinerator area. - Perform preventive maintenance tasks as required. Education and Experience: - An applicant must have completed, or able to complete within three (3) months, a basic training course approve by the Department of Natural resources.
