Job description
Scope: Full Time ED Coder with OP experience, 3+ years of experience in facility setting for a trauma level 1. Experienced with ED procedures, Injections and Infusion. Additional experience with OP surgery and OBS. Must have experience with EPIC and 3M. Schedule: Monday - Friday. Client is CST. Facility ED coding experienced with Diagnosis, Procedure, and Injection and Infusion code assignment. Fulltime schedule 8 hours a day Monday from Friday with a start time between 5am - 11am EST. Must have Epic and 3M experience. Summary/Objective: Under limited supervision the Coder ER reviews medical records and performs coding on all diagnoses, procedures, DRG/APC and charge codes. The Coder ER uses the most accurate codes for reimbursement purposes, research, epidemiology, statistical analysis outcomes, financial and strategic planning, evaluation of quality of care, and communication to support the patient’s treatment. The Coder ER will be charged with maintaining the confidentiality of patient records and procedures.
