Job Description About this unit The Neuro Critical Care Unit is an Intensive care unit within the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth hospital. The Neuro ICU is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center, and it is West Michigan’s largest stroke center. We specialize in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions. These conditions include Hemorrhagic stroke, Ischemic stroke, seizures, and Hydrocephalus with critical care needs. Our nurses are part of a collaborative team and work alongside our nurse techs, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and secretaries to provide specialized care to everyone. This team has worked to develop a culture of collaboration, kindness, teamwork, and learning. Scope of work: Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient within our clinics alongside RN’s/Providers.
