Job Description: The Patient Access Services (PAS) ED Registrar III is responsible for providing additional support to the Emergency Department staff for the coordination of registration, authorization, and information processing requirements associated with Emergency Department services. The ED Registrar III gathers appropriate demographic, clinical and financial information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure the patient’s smooth interaction with John Muir's various healthcare services. The person in this role works under the direct supervision of the department manager. Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent Required or Equivalent - Preferred Experience: 2 years - Medical Office - Preferred 2 years - Insurance Plan Payment Practices and Billing Requirements - Preferred 2 years - Information Technology – Electronic Health Record - Preferred Additional Experience: Knowledge of Health Care, insurance and third party payers.
