Job Summary: The Clinical Resource Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) possesses advanced skills in assessment and appropriate application of respiratory care services. Is responsible for the coordination of respiratory care services on their shift. Resolves technical problems and performs quality improvement studies. Records treatment and diagnostic information in the medical record. Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills; maintains a recognized area of clinical expertise and uses it in practice, teaching, and consultation; serves as a role model and provides positive influence to initiate and facilitate change. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: An Associate's Degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program is required. Bachelor's Degree in respiratory therapy preferred. Two (2) years of clinical experience required. Knowledge and Skills: Able to assemble and troubleshoot patient/machine equipment; draw blood; assess (patient or examination); perform preventative maintenance; calibrate equipment.
