Description We are looking for a Research Geologist for the Gulf Coast Carbon Center (GCCC) to perform reearch focusing on subsurgace geologic aspects of CO2 storage. In this position, the researcher will have the following responsibilities: - Writing proposals and securing funding for projects. - Planning and performing research activities both in the office, lab, and field. - Communicating research findings through publishing in scientific literature to positively impact successful implementation of Carbon Capture and Storage projects. - Communicating research findings through publishing in scientific literature and presenting at topically-related conferences and workshops to positively impact successful implementation of Capture and Storage projects. - Mentoring and collaborating within and without Gulf Coast Carbon Center and UT to enhance value of proposed and executed research. - Knowledge sharing via funded projects to targeted technical audiences and key stakeholders. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: PhD. in geology or related field. 5 years of post-graduate experience in geoscience.
