Description Full Time 3-12 hr shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am, variable days of the week. The Emergency Department Technician under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse carries out all assignments in the provision of patient care, as delegated by the registered nurse. All duties are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides direct patient care, as directed by RN 2. Assists RN in completing therapeutic treatments and communicates patient’s response to treatment. 3. Surveys for significant findings regarding patient safety, personal needs and changes in patient’s condition. 4. Promotes and maintains an atmosphere for patient comfort. Keeps patient’s room clean and orderly. 5. Identifies patient/family education needs and reports them to the RN. 6. Transports patients to and from the Emergency Department utilizing wheelchair or stretcher. 7. Stable patients requiring telemetry monitoring will be placed on remote telemetry for transport. 8.
