Fall Intern: Asian Security and Technology

Job description

Overview The Asian Security and Technology intern at the American Enterprise Institute will conduct research in support of Fellow Ryan Fedasiuk. The Asian Security and Technology portfolio focuses on US defense policy and security issues in the Indo-Pacific, including U.S.-China technology competition, China’s approach to industrial policy, and integrating policy and innovation. Key responsibilities may include: - Monitoring key developments in critical technology sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and rare earths, - Researching Military-Civil Fusion in China and the US defense innovation system, - Compiling sources in English and Chinese, and - Collecting and organizing data. The ideal candidate will possess: Working proficiency in Mandarin is helpful but not required.
