Title: Instructional Assistant Professor-Politics and Government Employee Classification: Instructional Asst Professor Division Name: Academic Affairs College/Unit: College of Arts and Sciences Department: Politics and Government Campus Location: Normal, IL Job Summary: The Department of Politics and Government invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track appointment as an Instructional Assistant Professor for Academic Year 2026-2027. Subject to funding and department need, the position may be renewed annually. Applicants for the position in the Department’s Political Science program should specialize in American Politics and be able to teach undergraduate research methods. ABD in Political Science is required; applicants with PhD in hand at the time of the appointment are preferred. Teaching Load: The teaching load is 4 courses a semester (3 preparations). This position will be assigned one large section of introductory research methods each semester (with graduate teaching assistant support), counting toward 2 courses in the teaching load, and two other upper-level American politics courses to be determined by department curricular needs and faculty expertise....
