Position Summary San Diego State University is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Building Service Engineer to maintain, repair, and optimize campus HVAC and mechanical systems. This role supports reliable building operations through corrective and preventive maintenance, system diagnostics, documentation, and collaboration with other trades. Key Responsibilities: - Corrective Maintenance - Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, air conditioning units, cooling towers, and distribution systems. - Test, calibrate, and adjust mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and microprocessor control systems. - Perform emergency repairs and respond to service requests to restore air flow, temperature, and humidity balance. - Utilize building automation systems to troubleshoot issues and optimize energy efficiency. - Preventive Maintenance - Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems to ensure proper operation and reduce downtime. - Replace filters, belts, pulleys, bearings, and other components as needed. - Prepare material lists, maintain shop inventory, and coordinate with other trades to support maintenance projects...
