Status Full-Time Standard Hours per Week: 40 Job Posting Category: Research: Job Posting Description: Position Summary/ Department Summary: Research Assistant II and Lab Manager for the Laboratory of Joseph Majzoub, MD, Division of Endocrinology, Department of Pediatrics, Boston Children’s Hospital. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain multiple mouse colonies including breeding, genotyping, with accurate records. This is one of the most important roles - Maintain records of experimental methodologies and results in a log of work performed (Lab Archives online notebook). - Work with PI and independently to design and perform experiments - Perform a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures, utilizing standard laboratory equipment, recording and analyzing outcomes for completeness and accuracy. - Mouse necropsy and tissue processing - Mouse tissue histological analysis using light microscopy, immunofluorescence, RNA in situ hybridization (RNAscope) - ELISA, RIA, qRTPCR - Cell culture ideal but not required - Maintain equipment, lab area and supplies in a neat manner. - Process orders for supplies and animals - Assist PI to write and amend animal protocols - Collaborate wit...
