Job Description Under direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and performs a variety of procedures, exams and tests. Assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment and promotes improved customer relations. Job Responsibility: 1. Receives work assignments and verbal reports from professional staff during work shift and communicates patient information to the Registered Nurse. Uses two patient identifiers for all care and procedures. Documents observations, vital signs, height, weight, and care in medical record. Observes and reports any change in condition or mental status to nurse. Reports any signs of patient abuse to nurse or nurse manager. Sensitive and supportive toward patient, family, and significant others. 2. Assists professional staff with examinations, procedures, and treatments including reinforcement of instructions and guidance. Administers therapy, including enemas, sitz baths, warm soaks, cold packs, ace bandages and antiembolic stockings.
