Job description

The APRN will act in accordance with Florida Statutes for the Nurse Practitioners Act. The care and management of critically ill infants requiring hospitalization in a level IV neonatal intensive care unit. This NICU Nurse Practitioner will cover night and/or day shifts as assigned including weekend coverage. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL. TGH is a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. It is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in west central Florida, serving a dozen counties with a population of over 4 million. In addition to being a level one trauma center, it has a level 3 NICU. The 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center designated by the State of Florida to deliver the highest level of medical care to premature and sick infants, and to women with high-risk pregnancies.
