Safety Specialist

Job description

Responsibilities and Duties: - Performs field safety audits and makes recommendations for corrective actions as needed. - Performs safety orientations for new hires as needed. - Performs and/or assists with safety incident investigations as well as OSHA investigations. - Makes recommendations to management concerning disciplinary actions when safety violations occur. - Assists or conducts all safety related training. - All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Experience/Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 3 years experience in the construction industry or a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health. - OSHA 30 Certificate. Education: - Knowledge of Windows based software (Excel, Word) and any e-mail system. - Detail oriented. - Strong organizational skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Capable of handling confidential information. - Able to perform climbing (extreme heights), crawling, heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and must not be claustrophobic. - High School Diploma or GED. - Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Special Requirements: - Valid Driver License
