Description Professor Andre Fenton’s Lab (Center for Neural Science, NYU; https://as.nyu.edu/cns/people/faculty.andre-fenton.html) Is searching for a full-time Laboratory Associate to join their team. The person hired will be involved in all aspects of animal care and husbandry, routine health care procedures, daily animal evaluations, animal surgeries, general technical assistance to the researcher and animal training. Responsibilities include: In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,656- $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer . - Behavioral training and testing of research animals. - Interacts and coordinates with veterinary services staff to assure health and welfare of animals. - Monitors and cares for pre-operative and post-operative veterinary patients. - Performs sterile surgery on animals. - Histology. - Assists and interacts with investigative staff to meet their research needs. - Trains and orients new employees and research staff, as needed. - Assistance with electrophysiological measureme...
