Job Summary Job Title: Phlebotomist: Location : Danville VA Medical Center, 1900 East Main Street, Danville, IL 61832-5100 Compensation : $23.00 per hour + 5.09 for Health and Wellness Shift Schedule: Position Description: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and provide essential support to our laboratory. This role requires a deep understanding of clinical science, venipuncture techniques, patient preparation, and specimen handling. The Phlebotomist will work closely with patients, laboratory staff, and other medical personnel to ensure accurate collection, handling, and transportation of specimens, while also providing excellent customer service. - Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., alternating tours. - Overtime on an as-needed basis Primary Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: - Perform blood collection requiring knowledge of clinical science to understand the multiplicity of tests and specimen requirements, the mechanics of venipuncture and patient preparation. - Perform phlebotomy to obtain patient specimens for laboratory testing including blood cultures and compatibility samples. - Acce...
