Job Description​ Saint Luke's Community Hospitals -Roeland Park is currently seeking a Full-Time Paramedic for the Emergency Room setting on Nights. Shift : Requirements: Responsibilities: This Paramedic position performs duties within the scope of practice in an Emergency Room facility setting. Under the direction of the on-duty physician, the Paramedic will take patient vitals, monitor cardiac and respiratory status, administer approved medications, applies and adjusts orthopedic appliances, and assist the patient care team as directed. Obtains/records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight). Monitors patient’s respiratory status and initiates oxygen therapy and treatments per protocol and as ordered by physician. Performs oral, nasal and ET tube suctioning Performs additional skills which may include, but not limited to: phlebotomy, IV initiation, medication administration, and maintenance,12- lead ECG, waived laboratory testing per unit competency Initiates cardiac monitoring; demonstrates ability to detect dysrhythmias and notifies registered nurse/physician.
