The energy world is in the midst of a major shift: reducing greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Statkraft's Origination activities are about understanding these dynamics and their impact on the pricing of energy and energy-related products, as well as developing meaningful and innovative solutions for our commercial and industrial customers on their journey to decarbonization. Our Origination business brings renewable energies to the market and to consumers. This is done through balancing services and power purchase agreements with renewable energy producers and hedging or supplies for our industrial and commercial customers (PPAs – Power Purchase Agreements). The latter range from standard electricity contracts to tailored green electricity supplies with guarantees of origin, which provide our customers with proof that the electricity purchased is generated by a specific facility.
