Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prep and splice fiber optic cables, locate problem areas and perform other repairs as needed. This requires proficiency with fusion splicer and fiber test equipment. - Install and maintain transmission and reception equipment for FTTH network. - Install and maintain network systems for private lines and determine solutions for any issues preventing the service from operating normally. - Initiate test and turn-up procedures with System Engineers in accordance with company compliance standards. - Collect and interpret engineering documentation, to include schematics, fiber management systems and performance OTDR reports. - Support field maintenance teams, including: IT, regional engineering teams and any other department as related to fiber network. - Provide demand and preventive maintenance for fiber network & FTTH. - Maintain proper network documentation on changes and upgrades. - Troubleshoot MDF/headend issues with 3rd party providers. - Work within the engineering team to ensure all connections are within required specifications. - Work on an on-call schedule rotation as required. - Other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job success...
