The Department of Family Medicine at Care New England, a major clinical affiliate of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, seeks an accomplished researcher to serve as Associate Chair of Research. The department runs the Family Medicine clerkship for Brown and operates the Brown Family Medicine Residency Program—the only Family Medicine residency in Rhode Island—training 48 residents across two sites. We also offer Global Health and Diabetology Fellowships. Our research portfolio spans global health, cardiometabolic clinical trials and epidemiology, and mixed methods research. We are developing a center focused on informatics and learning from electronic medical records data using causal inference methods. Brown University holds the contract for the Annals of Family Medicine, providing unique opportunities for scholarly collaboration. The Vice Chair will lead the research division, develop research strategy, mentor faculty and trainees, oversee the Clinical Trials Unit, and maintain an active externally funded research program.
