Job Description r Department: Maintenance: Reports To: Maintenance Manager Location: Extendicare Hillcrest Position Summary: The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the long-term care home, equipment, and grounds in a safe, clean, and operational condition. This role supports resident comfort, safety, infection prevention practices, and compliance with applicable legislation, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. The Maintenance Worker performs routine maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and assists with projects while ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff. Key Responsibilities: Building Maintenance & Repairs: - Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building systems, resident rooms, offices, common areas, and exterior grounds. Repair and maintain: - Doors, locks, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, and furniture - Plumbing fixtures and minor plumbing repairs - Lighting systems and electrical fixtures (within scope) - HVAC components and filters - Wheelchairs, lifts, beds, and resident equipment as assigned - Conduct painting, patching, carpentry, and finishing work.
