Job DetailsJob Location: IHS Haskell - Lawrence , KS 66046Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: Health CareJOB SUMMARY: Dental Assistant services in accordance with Haskell Indian Health Center policies and procedures and within scope of licensure. PRIMARY DUTIES: Obtain and record vital signs and screening data in electronic dental and health records. Triage emergency dental patients. Takes preliminary impressions for study models, removes sutures, places surgical gauze following extraction, places and removes rubber dam. Take both intraoral and extra oral (panoramic) digital radiographs. Obtain diagnostic quality images taking appropriate additional exposures as needed. Chair side assistant, primarily assisting in general dentistry. Assist as needed in more complex specialized dental procedures such as oral surgery, prosthetics, operative, and endodontics. Prepare dental instruments and materials prior to procedures. Evacuate blood and secretions from oral cavity during procedures. Transfer instruments to provider during dental procedures.
