Job DetailsJob Location: Lebanon, OH 45036Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $13.00 - $14.00 HourlyPOSITION SUMMARY: The Otterbein Lifeguard is responsible for the direct supervision, control and safety of members and participants during aquatic programming, recreational and lap swimming. In addition, the Lifeguard has a responsibility to implement the YMCA Mission, defined as a “code of conduct” or a basis for action, and to promote the YMCA’s Core Values. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains active surveillance of the pool area; refrains from distractions while guarding. Reports in uniform (swimsuit, guard shirt, towel, whistle, rescue tube and barrier) to station when scheduled shift begins. Sits at various sites, including in an elevated chair for extended periods; moves to various locations, including in and around an elevated chair Communicates verbally, including projecting the voice across distances and communicate swiftly and effectively with emergency personnel over the telephone and in person Observes all assigned sections of the water environment; may operate alone as a lifeguard without other lifeguards for support Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to em...
