The University of Maine System (UMS) IT Support Services department is seeking a Technology Support Technician to join our team. These positions focus on providing responsive, high-quality desktop support for faculty and staff. The Technology Support Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining end-user computing environments, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the reliability of daily operations across campus. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and support desktop computers, mobile devices, printers, and related peripherals. - Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and connectivity issues through in-person and remote channels (phone, email, remote tools). - Maintain accurate records of technical support activities using ticketing and inventory systems. - Develop and deploy standard desktop software images. - Coordinate service delivery with other IT staff and assist with small projects related to desktop infrastructure. - Provide onboarding and technical setup for new employees or device replacement. - Deliver excellent customer service and follow up o...
