Summary: The Design Engineer I represents a high level of technical expertise to internal and external customers in a variety of forms that include design assistance, delivering education, and enabling the customer to do business with ScanSource. The focus of the position may be on specified technologies, or on a specific group of suppliers. This role is expected to be an expert in Network Technologies and will act as a trusted advisor to the company's customers. This individual would have detailed knowledge of a multiple product lines, and able to guide a customer through designing the best overall solution which would include hardware, software, and licensing. Essential Job Duties: - Researches, recommends, and evaluates customer requirements to ensure the needs of the Business Partner and End User are satisfied. - Prepares configurations via vendor configuration tool with appropriate pricing estimates distributed to all concerned parties. - Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in field of Network Technology - Create technical content for sales enablement and marketing - Attend supplier and partner conferences as needed - Participate in...
