Job description

The Metropolitan Water District's Water System Operations Group has three openings for Operations & Maintenance Technician IV – Mechanical located at the Diemer Treatment Facility (Yorba Linda, CA) in the Water Treatment Section . This recruitment will be used to build an Eligibility List for the Water Treatment Section at the following locations: Diemer (Yorba Linda, CA), Jensen (Granada Hills, CA), Lake Skinner (Winchester, CA), Mills (Riverside, CA), and Weymouth (La Verne, CA). This list will be valid for 6 months from the date a candidate accepts the position. As an Operations & Maintenance Technician you will install, maintain, and repair a wide range of water utility and facility mechanical systems. In this journey-level position, you will monitor and inspect mechanical equipment to ensure reliability, perform predictive and diagnostic testing, and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance. You will support operations in conveyance and distribution, treatment plants , and pumping plants by improving equipment performance and upgrading systems to meet service demands.
