Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes Specialist - NETE Weir Canada Inc., Weir Marine Engineering LaSalle, QC (alternate possibility: Halifax, NS) Hybrid (Position 06-306) [version en français ci-bas - French version follows] Purpose of Role: Weir Marine Engineering (WME) has an exciting and interesting opportunity for a Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes Specialist to design, develop, and test IT solutions in a hybrid and private cloud infrastructure for existing and future ships of the Royal Canadian Navy. WME operates the Naval Engineering Test Establishment for the Department of National Defence. The candidate will design and implement high-availability OpenShift clusters in hybrid cloud environments. This is a very technical position for a subject matter expert, involving investigation, analysis and hands-on work with systems in test environments to arrive at the architecture and detailed design for the systems. This is a very unique environment and work opportunity that in some cases could include conducting validation and pilot deployments onboard Royal Canadian Navy ships while in home port.
