Software & Data Engineering Intern Reports to Software Engineering Manager: Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a nonprofit global media apostolate that supports the work of Bishop Robert Barron and reaches millions of people to draw them into—or back to—the Catholic faith. The Software & Data Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting Word on Fire’s Engineering Team with implementing software solutions in pursuit of the ministry’s mission. The Software & Data Engineer Intern works under the guidance and direction of the Software Engineer Manager and collaborates closely with key partners throughout the ministry; including but not limited to senior data engineers, the Director of Annual Giving, and Word on Fire Institute Product Specialist. The Software & Data Engineer intern writes individual unit and feature tests to test their code and participates in solicitation requirements sessions with other teams to understand their software needs and plan to implement them.
