Job Description The Shift Manager is responsible for the overall Hospital operation of program/services, providing ongoing support to front line staff after regular business hours. This includes the management of patient care activities, timely patient flow, appropriate resource allocation, and the management of Department specific and Hospital-wide clinical and non-clinical issues. This is accomplished in a way that is conducive to the growth and development of staff. What must you have?: What to expect in the Role - Member of a Regulated Health Profession - Three to five years’ experience in an acute care clinical leadership role. - Baccalaureate degree or equivalent. - Supports and mentors staff in critical thinking and decision making through a highly visible presence throughout the facility. - Manages conflict and facilitates its resolution in staff to staff, staff to MD, and staff to patient and/or family situations. - Monitors patient flow by adhering to the Mackenzie Health Surge Escalation Guidelines, in order to maintain access to emergency services, and meet the hospital’s regional Support and assist s with educational initiatives to continuously educate staff on an info...
