Description This is a Seasonal Position: $17.50/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership Under the guidance of the Camp Director, the Behavior Specialist will work directly with counselors to assist campers in need of extra assistance. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work directly with Camp Director to review all camper records regarding medical, social/emotional, and physical needs of campers. - Work directly with campers in need of extra assistance, communicates with unit heads and Camp Director on a regular basis regarding camper needs. Implement action plans with appropriate staff. - Assist in the implementation of staff training. Lead pre-camp training for camp staff regarding medial, social/emotional, and physical needs. Provide continuous education for staff throughout the summer. - Ensure all camper issues are handled and recorded in a timely and effective manner.
